The St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff's Office arrested a man, a woman, and a minor in connection with a gun being brought to a school campus.
Sheriff Mike Tregre said the guns were found during a pre-kindergarten graduation at Garyville Mt. Airy Magnet School.
Tregre said Nick Malancon, 24, of Reserve, Jaquanna Monique Cage, 25, of LaPlace and a 16-year-old boy from Reserve were arrested.
Tregre said his office received a tip that the suspects were in possession of a gun.
Deputies placed the school on lockdown and approached the suspects, who were in a car.
The 16-year-old boy and Malancon are accused of running away from deputies before being arrested.
Deputies then searched the car and found an AK47 with a loaded magazine on the passenger floorboard, according to Tregre. Officers also found the 16-year-old was in possession of a 20-round box of ammunition.
The 16-year-old had an ankle monitor was on house arrest on drug and weapons charges in St. Charles Parish.
Another handgun that had been converted into a fully automatic gun was found under another suspect's video.
In that vehicle, another gun was found on the floorboard. That vehicle belonged to Cage, according to Tregre.
Tregre said surveillance video shows Malancon, Cage and the 16-year-old arrived at the school together in Cage's car.
Malancon was booked with carrying a firearm or dangerous weapon by a student or nonstudent on school property, at school-sponsored functions, or in a firearm-free zone (felony).
He is being held on a $250,000 bond.

She also was wanted on a judicial warrant for simple criminal damage to property under $1,000.
She is being held on a $251,000 bond.
The 16-year-old faces charges of resisting an officer, illegal possession of a handgun by a juvenile (felony), and carrying a firearm or dangerous weapon by a student or nonstudent on school property, at school-sponsored functions, or in a firearm-free zone.
He is being held in custody at the Sherman Walker Correctional Facility.
St. John the Baptist Parish Schools Superintendent Rebecca Johnson released a statement:
"The safety of our students continues to remain a top priority as we work as a district to provide each scholar with an exceptional education. I am grateful for the teachers and administrators at Garyville Magnet who followed our crisis management plan and took appropriate and swift action. I would also like to thank the St. John Parish Sheriff's Office for their management of the situation and their continued investigation into the matter."
